Mike Hembree is a veteran newspaper and magazine journalist whose attachment to the Smokies began at the age of five on a family vacation. A resident of Gaffney, South Carolina, and a graduate of the University of South Carolina, he has visited 30 national parks and hopes to add many more to that list.
